Salmon Rose appraisal project:
2020
This project was assigned to put to the test students’ comparative skills and put into action our knowledge of the processes surrounding the appraisal of a fine arts piece. With no information given other than the name of the painting and the artist responsible for the work of art, I used comparative analysis to determine the possible fair market value of Salmon Rose by Wayne Thiebaud. I enjoyed the process and found it rather rewarding to examine similarities and differences between the works of an artist which may not be compared otherwise. I want to take this opportunity to showcase my descriptive and deductive skills.
Curation project; Quasi-Quarantine
2020
This has to be one of the most fun projects I have had the pleasure of molding. The open-ended prompt called for each student to curate an original exhibition using themes and works of their choice. I decided to choose a topic that was not only personally significant but that I felt would have an impact on the viewer. While using my interpretations of the quarantine experience, I believe I curated an exhibit that is both emotionally charged and relatable to the general public.
